My name is Wayne White. I am both the owner of Emerald Tree Care LLC, and an industry leader in effective early treatment for the Emerald Ash Borer. I have been successfully treating for this insect since 2002. My customers are located throughout the lower half of Michigan as well as the Toledo and Bowling Green area of Ohio, the western suburbs of Chicago, and most recently the newly discovered infested area of Algonquin, IL. The treatments I use have been proven effective by MSU. One of my very public sites, the Oakland County International Airport in Waterford, MI is featured in chapter 8 of an on line video about the Emerald Ash Borer. You can find this video at www.treeresearch.org. it is narrated by Dr Dave Roberts of MSU. He discovered this insect in 2002 and has visited first hand many of my successful treatment sites. Thousands of trees are being kept alive due to my efforts!
My two most prominent and successful sites are the Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan, and the aforementioned Oakland County International Airport in Waterford, Michigan. Combined, these sites have nearly 450 healthy Ash trees that are thriving in an area where thousands of city ash trees have died and been removed. Please see the "Pictures" portion of my website for photos and more information!
I am licensed and currently treating Ash trees in Michigan, the Chicago area of Illinois, northern Ohio and Indiana. Columbus, Ohio is an area where treatments are possible because of arborists I partner with in that city. Contact me ASAP if you have Ash trees in the Columbus area so that we can set up treatment for this spring!
If you are in the Chicago area there have been many recently discovered infestations this year. This insect is very hard, if not impossible, to detect in the early stages of infestation. In other words I cannot tell if your particular tree has been attacked by this insect until it has been in it for 2-3 years. You should be concerned if you live within a 15 mile radius of a known infestation. It is likely that by the time they discover these new areas, that the insect may have been present there for 3-5 years or longer. Certainly if you are within 6-8 miles, then this insect is literally at your doorstep. If you have ash trees that are important to you and you do not want to lose them, then you will need to do something about it soon. PREVENTATIVE Treatments are the key to successfully saving your ash trees!

To know how close this insect is to threatening your ash trees you can find a detailed list of Confirmed Infested Locations at the Illinois Department of Agriculture's website found at www.illinoiseab.com.
DON'T LET CHICAGO'S ASH TREES DIE! SAVE YOUR ASH!
For six years, I have been telling everyone that IMIDICLOPRID would work on Emerald Ash Borer! Even in the beginning, when there was no scientific evidence yet available, I was steadfast in my belief that this preventative program would work. I had confidence in this treatment because I was seeing first-hand results! While leading efforts to save the ash trees, I sat on the Emerald Ash Borer Committee for the Michigan Green Industry Association (MGIA). Combining my efforts with those of other leading arborists on this committee, allowed the MGIA to be successful in spreading the word to homeowners that treatment options are available.
