Treatment Areas
There are many states that are slowly falling victim to visits from the Emerald Ash Borer. In the order of the location to where my treatments have spread, the affected areas that I can take care of fall within this four state boundary:
- Michigan
- Ohio
- Indiana
- Illinois
If you have trees in these states and want to save them, be sure to start treating before its too late!
Michigan & Ohio
I have been treating for the Emerald Ash Borer in Michigan, south of Mt. Pleasant, and Ohio, around the Toledo/Bowling Green area, since 2002. Thousands of trees are alive in these areas due to my efforts. If you live in any of these areas and have ash trees that still look good, get them treated before you lose them!
COLUMBUS, OHIO – TREATMENT IS NOW POSSIBLE! As the insect is clearly just north of Columbus, we need to start preventative treatments in this area ASAP! Delaware County is especially important! By working closely with an arborist in the area that matches my treatment method exactly, treatment in Columbus is now possible. Contact me now so I can put you in touch with the best!
AKRON, CLEVELAND, CINCINNATI, DAYTON: As the insect begins to be reported in your area, don’t hesitate to start treatment. The sooner, the better!
Indiana
As I am now licensed in Indiana, I plan to treat much of the northern part of the state. All areas north of Indianapolis are on my list, as the city has had the Emerald Ash Borer for over eight years.
GARY, SOUTH BEND, FORT WAYNE: The insect is definitely in your areas. It is especially important that you treat your ash trees if you want to keep them alive.
Illinois
The EAB is clearly in the south-western suburbs around St. Charles. It will move a lot next year, so nearby areas need to start treating. The Illinois Dept. of Agriculture said that they recommend homeowners start treating if they are within a 15 mile radius of St. Charles. I am certain that the insect has actually moved further than currently reported – it’s only a matter of time before they “discover” it in new locations. Remember: EAB shows up in an area 2-3 years before it is detected.
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – TREATMENT IS NOW POSSIBLE! This area is going to become a crucial place that will need treatment. Currently, I treat in the cities of Bolingbrook, Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Lisle, Naperville, Oak Brook, Romeoville, Westmont, Wheaton, Willowbrook, and Woodridge. I offer treatment in many other cities within 15 miles, so don’t hesitate to contact me so we can set up a treatment plan!

In most cities, I plan to do treatments myself. In other places, I am partnering with several arborists who I highly recommend. Because I am insisting that treatments mirror what I have already proven to be successful, you can trust that you will be in good hands no matter where you are.
